Wnuki The Traditional Band
We're a band set up during winter 2008/2009 in Wrocław, Poland, yet our beginnings one can easily find far earlier and probably unnecessarily in Lower Silesia. We form a complement of archaic type, combining fiddle, "sieradzkie"-bass, a frame drum and vocals. We practice Polish traditional music, which we managed to learn from the oldest (today 70-90 years old) living rural masters. They still remember the times of traditional gatherings - e.g. weddings, led accompanied by live music. As Wnuki ('Grandchildren') we continue unbroken transmission of this tradition, consciously and joyfully!

The repertoire of the group consists mainly of dance tunes and occasional songs. The performances of Wnuki, often accompanied by dancers, are snappy, touching shows. They introduce the spectators, watchers and listeners to an unusual atmosphere of past rural parties and recall erstwhile customs and ceremonies.

We invite everybody to contact us!
